Easy DIY high contrast image box for infants!! This super simple and practically free project will be your new go-to for tummy time. Using just paper, a marker, a gallon bag, tape and a box, you can create the perfect prop for black and white patterns that you draw. Infants need lots of tummy time, and high contrast images hold their attention and are great for their development!
Grab any used box , like an eight-pack soda can box, and tape up any portions that were opened. Wrap it in white paper and tape.

Cut several sheets white paper in half . Cut a gallon bag roughly in half (to match the size of the pieces of paper.

Tape the gallon bag to the front of the box so it forms a pocket with the open side up (tape the sides of the bag to the sides of the box). Using a black marker, draw patterns like lines, circles, bulls eyes and squiggles on the pieces of paper. 🖊 We threw in a few red dots here and there for older babies who are beginning to see color (they love red! ) Slide the cards into the pocket formed by the bag, and voila! You have a hands-free image box for tummy time! This is perfect for side lying time as well! If baby can’t quite hold his head up yet, you can slide the cards into the bag and lay them on the floor in front of him, then tape the bag to the box once he can lift his head to see them.
