Ice Animals

Ice Animals πŸ„ This is a fun twist on the ice hockey activity I posted a few months ago, and it is great for babies and toddlers about 6 months and up. Place plastic animal figurines in a plastic container that fits in the freezer, then fill the container with enough water to cover the animals. πŸ’§Once frozen, remove the container from the fridge, and let your little explore touching and inspecting the ice and the trapped animals! When the ice has melted a bit, you can pop the ice out of the container and place it on a baking pan for baby to push around like a hockey puck. Try it in smaller containers to make this easier.
If you would like to try this during tummy time, use a shallow container. Baby should remove his hands before they get too cold on his own, but as always use your own judgement when incorporating sensory play! Supervise play and remove any chunks of ice that could fit in baby’s mouth.
