DIY Bead Maze

DIY Bead Maze 💫 Make a bead maze for your baby or toddler using just cardboard, pipe cleaners, beads and hot glue! 🙌🏼 This play idea is fun for grasping babies and up—little ones can fidget without getting the beads off, and toddlers can work on their fine motor skills! I made this maze with small pony beads, cut up straws, and noodles, but this would be great with large beads as well!

Take a piece of cardboard or a cardboard box like the one I used, and poke two holes for each pipe cleaner, spacing the holes out. String beads or other items onto a pipe cleaner, then place the ends of the pipe cleaner through two of the holes. Turn the cardboard over and fold the ends of the pipe cleaner over, about a quarter to a half inch. Do this for all of the pipe cleaners, overlapping them as desired to create the maze.
Heat your hot glue gun on low, then hot glue the ends of the pipe cleaners to the back of the cardboard, letting the glue cool and set. The pipe cleaners should be secure, and should not pull out when pulled.
Let your little explore touching and moving the beads or other items! For tummy time, or to make it easier to move the beads with one hand, try taping the cardboard down to the floor or table with painter’s tape. Tag @babyplayhacks in your creations!
